This is the new design for Godzilla for the upcoming Toho Godzilla film this year. It’s the first real Godzilla suit (guy in the suit) since 2004's Godzilla: Final Wars , and this new film is suppose to return to Godzilla’s darker roots, much like the original 1954 film.

I find the overall design to be positively gruesome, in a good way, but the arms are too damn short; almost useless it looks.

For our 10th anniversary, I got the SigOther a Toho approved Godzilla vinyl. But, I have no problem with them tweaking the design. On the other hand - they made a great CGI monster for the last movie, but they can’t get a wig for Bryan Cranston that doesn’t look like a wig?

I think the arms are supposed to be useless; Shrivelled, wasted claws. Notice that it’s the only part of his body that doesn’t move at all. Even the spinal plates have more flex to them.

He looks like he’s been skinned . It’s an excellent look for him as a villain, even more so than in the one where he’s possessed by the war dead.

The last one was an American reboot to the franchise. This new one will be Toho’s first since 2004. And the originals are great.

Dunno why it’s sideways, but it lives on top of the PS3, which lives on top of the TIVO, which lives on top of a Sony VHS that STILL WORKS! And that’s all on top of a Sony sound system.

Not much of a Godzilla guy, but doesn't this version kinda look zombified? The red accenting makes it look like his flesh is torn away.

They were going for a more mutated depiction this time, but they definitely took inspiration from the design from Godzilla vs Destroyah with the red accenting

I like the texture. I understand that it’s supposed to be the original Zilla that was hit with the Oxygen Destroyer, but didn’t die and instead has been hibernating on the ocean floor regenerating, which is why he looks all burnt.

That said, the tiny t-rex arms and comically huge fluffy cat tail look completely silly.

Don't get me started on the tail....I couldn't stop staring with confusion when I watched the trailer. It doesn't even look or move like a tail. It has its own physics.
